Diagenesis Analysis of Padengo Limestone Area, Gorontalo Regency Based on Petrographic Method

Carbonate rocks are composed of carbonate minerals that chemically formed in the form solutions, and there organisms involved their formation. The limestone found around Lake Limboto is very interesting, because water lake freshwater while characteristic a marine environment. Diagenesis natural process sedimentary occurs from initial deposition until it reaches limit metamorphism will be formed. research area located Padengo Village, West Subdistrict, Gorontalo Regency with 7.72 Km2. This aims to analyze diagenesis using petrographic method. methods used field geological survey analysis. results showed geology wackestone facies unit, crystalline an alluvial sediment unit. type study consists neomorphism, micritization, dissolution, cementation, dolomitization. From diagenesis, can determined environment starts phreatic zone, then burial ends at meteoric vadose zone.
